- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla, mixing until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions onto prepared baking sheet, spacing evenly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies are cracked and slightly soft in the center.
- Allow cooling on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, add a pinch of chili powder or espresso powder.
