Ingredients

  • 4 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Layer sliced potatoes in the dish, seasoning each layer with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  3. Mix heavy cream with grated cheeses and pour evenly over the potatoes.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  5. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
