- 2 ribeye steaks, about 1 inch thick
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs
Instructions
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Place steaks in the hot skillet and sear 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your preferred doneness.
- Reduce heat to low, add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan.
- Spoon the melted butter over the steaks continuously for 1-2 minutes.
- Remove steaks and rest for 3 minutes before serving, spooning remaining butter sauce over the top.

- Use a cast iron skillet for best searing results.
