Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown. Serve warm with butter and honey.

- Ensure the milk is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly.
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or cinnamon to the dough.
