Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface until smooth, about 2 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Punch down the dough and press it onto a greased baking sheet, spreading evenly.
  5. Press minced garlic onto the surface, drizzle with remaining olive oil, sprinkle herbs and sea salt.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
